Description

Superior Fresh Produce has been growing and shipping Michigan vegetables for almost 100 years. Originally a family owned company, Superior has grown over the last century into a diversified produce shipping, packing, repacking and sales organization. When Superior Fresh Produce first began, their only product was celery, which was grown by the Blauwkamp family. In the sixties, the Blauwkamp family began handling other local growers’ produce, and they expanded rapidly, building a 30,000 square foot distribution center. Sales increased throughout the Midwest and the South. Superior enlarged its capabilities to include packaging of celery for private labels and its own "Superior" label. In 1993, Randy Vande Guchte started Superior Sales, Inc. to expand sales, attract additional customers and handle more commodities. The company now has offices in San Antonio, Walla Walla, Nogales and Monterey, and they sell their produce nationally and internationally. They are GAP certified.
