Description

From a young age Tyler knew farming was his passage. In 1997 he and his wife Karla purchased the land and supported Tyler’s dream of growing fruits, vegetables and flowers for the local community. When their first strawberry crop was ready to be picked, they set up a picnic table on their front lawn and sold it to “locavore” customers. They now own 300 acres, with 100 acres dedicated solely to potato crops and sell their products at their retail farm stand and to grocery stores throughout the northeastern states. The farm hosts an annual apple festival and “pick-your-own” produce seasons. Every year Young Family Farm donates hundreds of thousands of pounds of produce to the Rhode Island Food Bank as an effort to support the community.
