Gerrit Van Solkema, a Dutch immigrant, came to Western Michigan in search of rich, fertile soil and began farming on rented property in 1896. In 1903, he bought the farm’s first 300 acres. Today, the farm is owned by the 5th generation Van Solkema family, with Jerry Van Solkema as President. They grow, ship and distribute their produce across North America. You can find a wide range of Van Solkema items packed in the “Oh Boy” brand.
