Lonesome Stone Milling began in June 2009 with the purchase of a grain seed cleaner. After cleaning crops for farmers for several months, an idea sparked to create a pancake mix from wheat and rye. Their friends and family loved it so much that they began selling it at farmers' markets. In 2010, they purchased their own stone burr mill and began creating other whole-grain products that are now sold at the retail and wholesale level throughout southern Wisconsin and Chicago. Lonesome Stone Milling has been featured on Wisconsin Foodie and in several other magazines. Each product package includes the name of the farmer who grew the grain.
