Description

The idea for growing tomatoes at Backyard Farms began in 2004 when the owners noticed that all tomatoes in the grocery store came from Canada, Mexico or Holland. This meant the tomatoes were not truly fresh or ripe; they just turned red while traveling long distances. The name Backyard Farms was chosen because the owners and staff of the farm want to bring the same dedication and attention to their plants as someone who grows plants in their own backyard would.  The 200 people who work in the 42-acre greenhouse all share a passion for healthy plants and good fruit. Backyard Farms values quality first and quantity second. Their tomatoes are non-GMO certified and are grown hydroponically.
