Description
Jasper Hill Farms is a small family farm. In 1998, Andy and Mateo Kehler, and their wives, Victoria and Angie, pooled their life savings and purchased a rocky hillside farm in Greensboro Village, soon to be known as Jasper Hill Farms. They fixed the barn, bought 50 Ayrshire cows, built a creamery and created a cave aging space underground for cultivating natural cheese rinds. In 2003, Jasper Hill Farms sent their first cheeses to market. Cabot Creamery, maker of some of the best cheeses in the country, called Jasper Hill Farms and partnered with them to use their aging facility and produced an award winning cheese. Today, the farm has expanded to include a 22,000 square foot, 7-vaulted aging facility that holds cheeses from six different nearby creameries. Jasper Hill Farms produces five cheeses, which are aged in the onsite cellars.
