Description
In 1931, John Barden and Hazel Dean founded Barden Family Orchard and planted apple trees that are still on the farm today. John continued growing fruit into his early 80s and passed the farm to his grandson Gilbert who helped plant more crops such as pumpkins, peaches and squash. Since 2005, the entire Barden family has been involved in the farm working from crop production to harvesting, or working farmer’s markets and welcoming customers who come to pick their own crops. Gilbert, Sandra, Andrew, Stacey and Luke Barden are dedicated to using the safest and most environmentally conscious methods to ensure the best quality fruit and vegetables for your family. Furthermore, the family is committed to conservation practices and uses a drip irrigation system designed by the Natural Resources Conservation.
